It's big news here that Ryan has been axed from Nickelback for no apperant reason - and is to be replaced by Daniel Adair of 3 Doors Down. Has anyone heard anything?
I am not a fan of either of these bands, but Daniel is a major success story out of Vancouver, and we share the same teacher. I also feel bad for Ryan, since he has been with that band since day one.
Adair is a great player - gets better and better everyday too. I wonder what 3 Doors Down is gonna do now, they must be upset.

Like I said - I am not a fan of either of these bands... but, this news was "close to home" for me, since I personally know or have met Chad, Ryan and Daniel.
Ryan had some great grooves... check out the ghost notes in "too bad".
I've come to realize that you gotta give Nickelback some credit for conquering the world like they have. Only problem is all their clones now... the list goes on and on.
nevesis, why do you only pop up here in HOD from time to time just to be negative? I agree, Nickelback is not really my thing either - but thats not what this thread is all about.

EDIT: I saw that Mr. Holmes was online - perhaps he took care of the matter. Regardless, Steve, if you could just leave a post of what action you took that explains things for me and also sends a message to other users and guests that such comments are quickly dealt with here. For your info Chris, I just tried to put Nevesis on track again. The comment was really unnecessary.

If it's even was Vinnie who wanted to gig with Nickelback, and if i were Chad i wouldn't have fired the current Drummer of the band.
But it's obious that Ryan is serious about his instrument, and is going to get through this period and get another good gig. I'm 100% sure. Playing for one of the most selling rock-acts in the 21Th century must make some guys raise their eyebrows when they know he's avaiable.

Klemme, Ryan plans on studying music in Boston (Berklee) from this point on... odd IMO, but it's what he wants to do I suppose!
Well if that's what he calls taking a break from the Road, then it's probably cool for him. Maybe he's an old Extreme Fan, and receiving lessons from Mangini could be a milestone for him?!.
